Activities in our mountains

Our situation, in a circle of mountains – the Pyrenees, the Canigou, the Alberes, which end in the sea, plus the hills of the Aspres and Corbieres… give a choice of avtivities to suit all abilities.

A stroll in the woods, a hike to a mountain summit or a long distance footpath – the GR10 which runs the length of the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, or the GR36, which passes through Arles sur Tech and is one of the routes of the long pilgrimage of ST Jaques de Compostelle which run the length and breadth of France.
You can hire a jeep or an SUV with driver, to arrive at the foot of Mount Canigou, for an easy climb to the top.
There is an 18 hole golf course and a spa centre at Falgas, 15km from the campsite.

Other possibilities are horse riding, climbing and mountaineering, skiing on piste or cross country.

The mountains are wonderful for lovers of wildlife with hugely varied vegetation according to the altituYou could also relax in the sulphurous spa waters of Dorres, Llo or St Thomas.de and the season and you can hunt for mushrooms or chestnuts or encounter herds of mountain cattle, horses or flocks of sheep. Wildlife includes izzards, (chamois), deer, marmots and many birds of prey including golden eagles and vultures.

There is a multitude of picturesque mountain villages, rich in heritage and tradition, to explore along the narrow mountain roads.

And to discover the Cerdagne and Capcir areas in the next valley there is the ‘Little yellow train’ which runs through the mountains from Villefranche de Conflent to Font Romeu.
You could also relax in the sulphurous spa waters of Dorres, Llo or St Thomas.

The proximity of both the sea and the mountains means that you can choose between a day at the beach and a Skiing trip, at some times of year.
